Most Electricity is made out of coal 1200 g CO2/ kWh
Small Electrical car : 300 g CO2 / Km !!!

VW Polo Bluemotion Diesel : 87 g CO2 / km
Ford Focus Econetic Diesel : 99 g CO2 / km
Mercedes E class Bluetec Diesel Hybrid : ~ 120 g CO2 !!! (not bad for 2000 kg car)

Clean Electrical cars is a big lie. It’s a crime against humanity (90% electricity in China and India is made out of Coal).
Priority should be renewable green Fuels (solid biomass) and reduction of consumption!

Yes, that and the willingness to follow leaders blinding. Electric or some other alternative power source, just think if auto technology improved as fast as computer chip technology…

Ethanol may be a step in the right direction, but is not the solution, sorry. Electricity is the answer.. There is solar power, tidal power, wind power, and countless other ways to harness the power of electricity and efficiently/cheaply distribute it to the public. Ethanol is a very limited and illogical solution as we only have so much land which can be used for crops, and the process to actually create the fuel is much more involving and costly.

The oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico may just be the push the public needs to get us off the dependence of fossil fuels. It’s ridiculous we still use non-renewable resources/dead planet energy when there are completely renewable environmentally friendly means of energy distribution. It’s all about money, really, and that is sad.

GM and Standard Oil bought up and killed the electric street cars in the early 1900’s. They are criminal organizations.

The EV1 was a test, and it failed it. Terrible performance compared to regular or hybrid engine, long recharge time and the necessity of having a docking station to recharge it. Combined to the fact that they were much more expensive to make and maintain when gas price were not that high.

Its only the gas price quadrupling in the last few years that made hybrid and electric car more viable.

About ten years ago, right, some bloke tried ter register an electric car. The states motor vehicle bureau refused ter register it because it could not pass a required emissions test, right, because there were no emissions ter test.

There’s no conspiracy, electric cars can’t compete with gas period. Why did they disappear? I’m sure it had nothing to do with the 20-30 mile range or charging it for 16 hours. Highways? Drive faster and your range goes down exponentially. What fantasy world you guys live in?

I don’t see it replacing fossil fuel in the united states any time soon. Imagine how many billions it would take to place charge stations 100 miles apart across the entire country. Even now it’s only viable within cities.

@mindysch Don’t know where you live buddy, but this winter was extreme here in Europe and it proved my point in practice: many hybrid cars got stranded here with dead batteries or batteries not charging anymore. Heck, many hybrids didn’t even start up. That’s no mis-information: it’s a fact buddy…

mindysch:

@f0xmuld3r - not so! This is more mis-information…do you really think that EVs battery systems aren’t tested for extremes. As far as getting stranded ( natural selection maybe ? ) If you can’t remember to fill up your gas tank - you will be stranded too. ( And who has spare fuel lying around at home…where as with an EV I can just plug it in and “fill it up”. ) Nissan leaf 100 miles for $3 - charging dock in your garage - just like the EV1

oh, i run a lawnmower with a pantone system : I Just use 25 % of gazolin, since 3 years, every years, to cut down my grass and it run perfect. The other ” fuel” is just WATER..

A lot of alternative systems have been killed, because they give economical problems : HOW to taxe water or electricity the same that Oil or gazolin is taxed ?
Btw, look also at the stiling engine, or Tesla way to produce free energy motors.
What have change is that we now have the infos with internet. That’s all.

Remember, oil companies, like any Corporation, have a duty to make as much profit for their shareholders (the Elite and wealthy) as possible. If you want to blame somebody, blame every asshole who wants a return on investment in conjunction to destroying the environment and keeping people slaves to oil. The Elite, the rich, who don’t give a shit about the future. They only care about their profit today. They don’t give a shit about society.
